I have been making healthier alternatives to spaghetti dinners. I no longer buy the jars of pasta sauce that are ready made. Instead, I make my own in the food processor. Here is one recipe for sauce that came out awesome:
1 can of no salt added tomatoes
4 roma tomatoes
2 tbsp of dill weed
2 tbsp of oregano
a few slices of red onion
drizzles of olive oil
After blending, you can heat it on the stovetop, but I chose not to. It went great with the pasta noodles that are made from spinach. Mmmmm.

That sounds awesome. I would never think to put dill in.
ReplyDeleteI stopped using canned sauce too, mostly because I thought it was gross. I can't believe how sweet canned sauces taste now that I make my own sauce.
Anyway, here is my favorite recipe. The lemon zest makes it taste so amazing.

I'll have to try this. it wouldn't have occurred to me to add dill weed.
