Make a headband

This evening, I stopped by Half Price Books. I picked through the old magazines pile and got several copies of quilting magazines, sewing magazines, and Vogue. I briefly looked through them before putting them away, and I noticed that one of the quilting magazines that is specific to piecework had directions for an awesome headband. It's a pieced headband from scraps. It has a larger top, and two ties to tie under your hair by the back of your neck.

I can't find a link, so I am going to try and write the directions out here. You need 10 scraps.
A: 6 1/2 by 5 1/2
B: 6 1/2 by 8 1/2
C: 4 1/2 by 13 1/2
D: 5 1/2 by 10 1/2
E: 8 1/2 by 4 1/2
F: 4 1/2 by 10 1/2
G: 3 1/2 by 14 1/2 (Cut 2)
H: 3 1/2 by 8 1/2 (Cut 2)

Directions:

Join pieces A and B. Join AB to C. Join ABC to D. Join E to F. Join ABCD to EF. Join one G to each short side. Hem each long side. Accordion fold each short side and pin to each H, right sides together. Sew the H strap on, and hem the strap accordingly. The geometry is a little off, and the magazine does say to "Trim as Needed". When you are done, tie it around your head. I love this headband!!!!! As soon as I saw it in the magazine, the creative juices hit me like a truck. It's now almost midnight and I am still not in bed. So I might be tired tomorrow. Ha! Fun times.
